Every location has more than one way in and more than one way out, on 400G and 100G ports. Uplinks are spread across separate carriers and separate physical paths, so losing a single provider or a single fibre run changes throughput rather than availability — and 8+ Tbit/s of external capacity leaves headroom to absorb an attack instead of scrambling for it.
Mitigation sits inside the network rather than bolted on afterwards. Hostile traffic is scrubbed before it reaches your port, so you usually find out from a graph instead of an outage.
Tier 1 transit from TATA, GTT, Core-Backbone, ZET and Edgoo, combined with public and private peering at the exchanges. Traffic takes a short, deliberately chosen path instead of whatever is cheapest that month.
Frankfurt and Amsterdam host DE-CIX and AMS-IX, two of the largest internet exchanges in the world. Sitting on both keeps European latency low and always leaves traffic a second way around.
